Great campaign in Asia many saved and healed!
Richard Gunning has just recently returned to Belfast after leading a great gospel campaign
in a poor area of a major city in Asia. Hundreds came forward each evening to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour,
many others testified that they had been healed after prayer in Jesus’ name!
The campaign was originally planned for another town but due to political violence a
few days before our arrival our team were ordered to cancel our original plans. Our local campaign director did a fantastic job in
moving the whole campaign at such very short notice. Richard was accompanied on this trip by ACE evangelist Peter and 16 students
from the Bible School of which he is principal. The young people did a tremendous job prior to the preaching each evening with
very professional drama and dance.
We preach Christ crucified!
Richard Gunning and Peter preached simple gospel messages each evening, lifting up
Jesus and His work on the cross for all who will believe. Hundreds responded and had their names and addresses carefully noted
down for future follow up by a large team of uniformed counsellors. Everyone was also given a copy of John’s Gospel in the local
language. During the day time training seminars were held for local pastors and believers, training and inspiring them for evangelism
and follow up.
The Lord confirms the Word!
Many others were also healed and came to the platform to testify publicly. A man
who had been unable to walk properly was able to jump and run on the platform, a lady who was nearly blind in one eye could now
see clearly, a lady who had been in terrible pain for over 20 years was set free. Other people manifested evil spirits during the
altar call and many were set free after prayer by local pastors. “To God be the glory, great things He has done”

ACE evangelists have been holding many great campaigns in Africa and Asia in recent months
and reports and photos are pouring in to our Belfast office! We are currently going through these reports and will produce a special edition
“Frontline News” as soon as possible with more details, photos etc.

1,500 DECISIONS FOR JESUS IN BURKINA FASO!
RTU’s Richard Gunning and Frank Galbraith recently returned to Belfast after another wonderful campaign in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Together with
Johnny Pettersen from Norway they led our 15th campaign there in just four years! This latest campaign targeted the little town of Saponé in the centre of this needy nation.
The campaign ground was a dust bowl of a football pitch which to us seemed to be “in the middle of nowhere”. However each night over 5,000 people found their way to the
ground, many walking a considerable distance to hear the Gospel. After a great time of singing and dancing people settled down to hear
Richard or Johnny preach the Good News about Jesus.
OVERWHELMING RESPONSE!
The response was overwhelming, hundreds rushed to the front
of the platform each night to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Their
names and addresses were recorded by a team of uniformed counsellors and
in total just over 1,500 decision cards were returned over the course of
five nights. RTU will now undertake the financial support of two
native pastors who will focus full time of follow up of these
people, in partnership with the small local churches.
Tremendous day time
seminars were also held for local pastors and church leaders from a wide
area, inspiring them to go themselves to unreached villages and preach
the gospel.
MANY
HEALED AND DELIVERED!
Many people were also
healed in the evening meetings and came forward to testify after being
carefully checked by local pastors. Many demon possessed people were
also set free and our counsellors had their hands full ministering to
many who were clearly manifesting evil spirits.
A little boy who had
never walked was able to walk for the first time,
a man who was deaf in one ear was healed. A lady with very bad sight
could see everything clearly and count how many fingers Johnny was
holding up, a man danced for joy with Richard as his lame left leg was
healed and now pain free. “To God be the glory great things He has
done!”
Other ACE evangelists have
been busy in recent weeks preaching to great crowds in different needy
nations. These reports are all being assembled for the next
edition of “Frontline News” which we will publish soon.

HARVEST
OF SOULS IN AFRICA AND ASIA!
Thanks to the faithful prayers and financial support of our friends and
partners we are reaching more people in more places than ever
before. Just last week, 16th – 21st February 2010, four great
gospel campaigns were held in four different countries of Africa and
Asia. Exciting reports and photos are now arriving in our office.
Next month four more great campaigns are planned. On 7th March
Richard Gunning and Frank Galbraith from RTU Belfast will travel (DV) to
Burkina Faso, together with Johnny Pettersen from Norway, for our 15th
gospel campaign there is recent years. Other ACE teams will travel
to other needy nations in Asia
RTU’s army of dedicated native
pastors do the follow up work after the campaigns and new church
buildings continue to be constructed to accommodate new congregations
planted. These dedicated men swing into action as soon as each campaign
has ended. This is pioneer mission work, this is world evangelism,
this is the fulfilment of the Great Commission Jesus gave us “Go into
all the world and preach the gospel!” Your prayers and your
support are much needed and greatly appreciated to help make all of this
great work possible.
Our strategy is simple but effective, (1)
preach the gospel in great open air campaigns, (2) support and equip
native pastors to follow up new converts and finally (3) assist in the
construction of new church buildings where necessary to house newly
planted churches.
We are currently working on the latest edition of “Frontline News”
which will contain many exciting reports and photos from the latest
campaigns, this will be sent out as soon as possible.
SAD NEWS:
Per and Pat
Everyone in RTU and ACE was saddened by the
very sudden and totally unexpected death of ACE evangelist Per Hall
from Finland on 8th February 2010. Per was just 37 years old and had
accompanied Richard on his previous trip to Burkina Faso in December
2009. A kind, “gentle giant” of a man, Per was a powerful evangelist who
will be greatly missed by us all. Please pray for his wife Maija and two
little daughters.
The Gunning family have also been saddened by the peaceful passing of
Agnes Gunning’s father, Patrick Park, on 17th
February, aged 87 years old. His funeral on Saturday 20th
February was a fitting tribute to a wonderful Christian husband, father,
father-in-law and grandfather.

BURKINA FASO – A NATION HUNGRY
FOR THE GOSPEL!
Burkina
Faso, a landlocked country in West Africa, is one of the poorest
countries in the world. However Jesus told us that the “gospel is good
news to the poor” and we are seeing the reality of that in our campaigns
there since 2006. Two ACE campaigns were held in Burkina Faso last
month, both campaigns saw over 1,000 people come forward for salvation
plus many dramatic healing testimonies. In one recent campaign a
young lady who had been totally unable to walk for over a year rose up
from her chair and walked after prayer in Jesus name, she came to the
platform with her father to tell the people what Jesus had done!
As we write another team are in Burkina Faso leading the latest
campaign in a small town, a fourth campaign will be held in February and
then the last of the current series of ACE campaigns in Burkina Faso
will be held in March (DV). This will bring the total number of ACE
campaigns in Burkina Faso since January 2006 to 15, thank you for
your prayers and support which help to make all of this possible!

ACE evangelists have also been busy preaching the gospel in
different countries in Africa and Asia with more campaigns coming up in February. RTU Ministries now supports a growing team of
native pastors in many nations who take care of the new believers and
plant churches in unreached areas. Since we launched ACE in September
2002 over 1,700 new churches and cell groups have been planted as a
direct result of the ACE campaigns in small, strategic, regional towns.
20 YEARS SINCE RTU WAS
FOUNDED!
It is now 20 years since RTU Ministries was founded by Richard and
Agnes Gunning and Kenyan Pastor Peter Karangu in January 1990. From
humble beginnings preaching under trees in primitive villages in Kenya
RTU has grown, by the grace of God, into an international mission
supporting over 80 native pastors in several different countries and
with nearly 40 European evangelists linked to us through ACE
(Association of Campaign Evangelists) which we founded in September
2002.

Friends,
As Christmas approaches and another new
year will soon be upon us we would just like to thank each and every one
of you for your prayers, support and partnership in the gospel over the
past year, 2009. It has been another wonderful year for both RTU
Ministries and all our associates in ACE (Association of Campaign
Evangelists).
Tremendous
soul winning campaigns have been held in many nations in Africa and
Asia. Thousands have responded to the gospel, many have been healed.
Many new churches have been planted, new buildings constructed and more
native pastors supported for follow up work after the campaigns.
Your prayers and your financial support have
played a vital role in all that has been achieved, some go and others
pray and give financially – together we are making a tremendous impact
in unreached areas of the world for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As the year draws to a close Richard was
recently in Burkina Faso for another great pioneer campaign in one of
the world’s poorest nations. We preached the gospel in a little town
called Niangalako, 5th – 9th December. Over 1200
came to the Lord and many wonderful healings were witnessed in this
latest campaign.
In 2010 we will continue to press on “preaching
the Gospel where Christ is not known”, through campaigns, conferences,
support for native pastors, church planting and construction of new
church buildings.
Thank you

ANOTHER WONDERFUL ACE CONFERENCE!

CAMPAIGNS PLANNED!
At the end of last month we hosted our eighth
annual conference in Belfast for the Association of Campaign Evangelists
– ACE. Over the course of three action packed days in Belfast’s Park
Avenue Hotel 34 delegates from Europe, Africa and Asia finalised plans
for some 25 gospel campaigns over the next eight months with more in the
pipeline. RTU Ministries will financially assist many of these
outreaches. Thank you partners for your wonderful prayers and
support!
It was also a joy to welcome over
100 people to our “Friends & Partners Evening” where we presented news,
reports and a new DVD.
OVER 350, 000 DECISIONS FOR JESUS!

In the weeks prior to the conference RTU’s Martin
Goodchild was hard at work analysing many statistics from our various
target nations. We will give you more details in the next update but we
were amazed to hear that over 350,000 people in Africa and Asia
have responded to the gospel since we began ACE in 2002. A total
of over 1,700 churches or cell groups have been planted as a direct
result of the ACE campaigns.
Thought:
Why should some people hear the gospel hundreds of times when
millions have never heard it once?
DENIS HAMILTON RETIRES
Our Friends & Partners Evening also saw the retirement from the work
of Denis Hamilton, a wonderful office volunteer and co worker who
has been a tremendous blessing to RTU and Richard Gunning over many
years. Denis will be greatly missed from the office but hopes to
continue to help out at conference time! Richard Gunning paid
tribute to Denis at our Partners Evening and presented him with a
gift as a small token of our appreciation for all his faithful
service over many years. We wish Denis and his wife Joan every
blessing for the future. “The only thing I won’t miss is signing
hundreds of Christmas cards” said Denis!

150 Attend Great Conference in
Kenya!

Bibles presented to Pastors!
Richard Gunning recently led a six
strong team to Meru, Kenya for the annual RTU Pastors & Elders
Conference. 150 delegates travelled to Meru in Central Kenya from all
over the country, representing over 300 churches planted in remote areas
by RTU Ministries. This was another tremendous event featuring wonderful
tribal worship Bible teaching, women's seminars, prayer and inspiring
testimonies of what God is doing in many areas of Kenya. During the
final meeting many of the pastors responded to a stirring call to "reach
the unreached" from Richard Gunning by publicly dedicating themselves to
reaching at least one more new village before the end of this year.
On the final day of the conference 46
bicycles donated by RTU partners, were presented to pastors on a nearby
football ground. 150 Bibles in Swahili and Turkana were later presented
to all the delegates by Pastor Jonathan Payne whose church also
generously sponsored a one day medical camp in a very poor village where
over 180 people were treated by Kenyan nurses and given vital
medication. 200 mosquito nets plus food were also given to the
villagers.

Our National Director
in Burkina Faso, Pastor Samuel has visited all the towns where ACE
campaigns have been held. RTU financially supports two pastors in each
town who follow up new believers and plant churches. Here are just a few
extracts from his detailed report:
“Following
the campaign in Po in February 2008 there was a very big impact. It
prepared the people to accept the gospel. The campaign brought the
pastors closer together with the same vision to win souls. After the
campaign many had a new confidence for the work. Some churches have now
outgrown their buildings. Over 400 new members were added to small local
churches as a direct result of the ACE campaign in Po!”
“The
campaign in Houndé in January 2009 has had a very good impact. It opened
the doors for evangelism. The campaign gave the local believers boldness
and courage to go beyond former limits, even the pagans are asking “when
is the next campaign?” The ACE campaigns bring down the kingdom of
darkness and open the eyes of the people. The campaign has also had a
great impact on the political leaders. In one town the chief of police
told me that since the campaign criminality has been dramatically
reduced and the police now have less to do!”

similar exciting reports from each of the ten towns where we have held

COMING UP!
Richard Gunning will
lead a team to Kenya soon for the annual RTU Pastors and Elders’
conference, over 100 pastors and church elders are expected from all

We believe in follow up!
Since RTU was founded in 1990 we have always believed in the vital
necessity of solid follow up after every evangelistic outreach, whether
it is a great open air campaign or a humble village meeting.
One of the key elements of our follow up
strategy is financial support over a period of time for dedicated,
carefully selected native pastors who follow up new believers after
every gospel campaign and who also seek to pioneer in new and unreached
surrounding villages. The
work of the pastors we support is overseen by our national director in
each country. Monthly reports are forwarded to our local office,
translated into English and forwarded to us in Belfast for distribution
to the individual partners who supports each particular pastor.
At present RTU is financially supporting
over 80 pastors in several different nations of Africa and Asia.
It is exciting to read the regular reports of souls saved, churches
growing, people healed and new villages reached with the gospel.
Recently we have been able to finance the construction of three new
church buildings in Burkina Faso in new areas. In Kenya over 100
buildings have been constructed over the years, thanks to support from
RTU’s faithful partners here at home.
RTU also regularly equips the pastors with
bicycles which are a great help and blessing to the men in the work,
recently bicycles were purchased for our new team of pastors in a region
of Asia. Bicycles cost £50 - £60 GBP. Native pastors need support of £25
- £50 GBP per month depending on the country.
In recent weeks associate evangelist
connected to RTU through ACE (Association of Campaign Evangelists) have
been busy holding campaigns in different parts of Asia.
Full reports and photos from all these
latest events will be in the next colour edition of Frontline News. Next
month one of our associates will lead a team to Guinea in West Africa

Great breakthrough campaign in Asia!
Richard Gunning and team
recently held another great gospel campaign in a remote and rural area
of Asia. This was the tenth ACE (Association of Campaign Evangelists)
campaign in that region in recent years and was a tremendous
breakthrough for the gospel in a very needy area.
Over the course of five nights 2,535 decision
cards were returned to the local pastors, there were also many dramatic
healing testimonies each evening. During the daytime Richard and
associate evangelist Harald led daytime training seminars for local
believers with hundreds attending, some coming from far away villages.
The evening meetings were attended by large crowds of over 3,000
people which was amazing as the campaign ground was in a remote and
rural area with no nearby town but people walked from the many
surrounding villages to evening meetings. This area was a four hour
drive in a 4 x 4 vehicle from the state capital, we had to drive on a
narrow track through a forest and then across a river to reach our final
destination. We stayed with a local Christian family in their home,
water had to be fetched from an outside well and electricity was only
available thanks to a portable generator! But these things are well
worthwhile for the joy of knowing that we are “reaching the unreached”
with the good news of Jesus Christ and seeing His kingdom extended in
needy Asia.
Right from the first evening over 3,000 people
were in attendance and each night hundreds rushed forward when the
salvation appeal was made. Names and addresses were carefully recorded
for future follow up by over 100 well trained volunteers and a copy of
John’s Gospel was given to all who came forward until our supplies were
finally exhausted! Many came to the platform to testify to their
healing in the name of Jesus. A woman who had been deaf in one hear
had her hearing restored, a man with a lame arm could move it freely in
every direction, a woman who had been lame in her legs could walk and
run on the platform without any pain! People clapped and cheered
excitedly as they heard these wonderful testimonies each evening at the
close of the meeting. To God be the glory great things He has done!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
2009 TO EVERYONE WHO VISITS OUR WEBSITE!
MANY CAMPAIGNS
IN RECENT MONTHS!
In recent months the
evangelists linked to RTU Ministries and Richard Gunning through ACE
(Association of Campaign Evangelists) have been very busy holding a
series of campaigns in both Africa and Asia. The Lord has been moving
powerfully in these meetings and many people have been saved and healed
in the name of Jesus Christ. Our aim is to hold a series of campaigns in
regional towns right across a whole state or nation. New believers are
then followed up by local churches and we have great reports of many
people being added to local churches and new fellowships being started.
In many places RTU Ministries undertakes the financial support of two
native pastors who coordinate follow up work and also evangelise and
plant churches in new villages which are unreached with the gospel. RTU
now supports a large number of native pastors ministering in unreached
areas of Africa and Asia.
BREAKTHROUGHS IN
BURKINA FASO!
Richard Gunning has
led two great campaigns together with his associates in regional towns
in Burkina Faso in West Africa. The first campaign was held in December
2008 in a town called Sapouy. Large crowds attended right from the first
evening and there was a tremendous response to the gospel as hundreds
responded to the evening altar calls for salvation.
In total nearly 1,000 completed
decision cards were returned to the local pastors and some 225 people
testified to healing during the course of the campaign. We
also held inspirational training seminars during the day time for around
100 pastors from all over the surrounding district. The great unity of
the small local churches was a major feature of this campaign.
In January 2009
Richard returned to Burkina Faso accompanied by two colleagues from
Denmark. This time our destination was the town of Houndé where 80% of
the population are Muslims. People
started gathering at lunchtime for an evening meeting that was not
scheduled to start until 6pm! By the time we came to the ground at 7pm
over 5,000 were gathered for the first evening meeting, about 50% of the
entire population of the town of Houndé! Again we were
humbled to see the Lord moving powerfully in both salvation and healing
each evening. We also heard some wonderful healing testimonies from
people of all religious backgrounds. A total of 1,224 decision cards
were returned to the local pastors for follow up. Daytime seminars were
attended by 120 native pastors from the region. Richard was also given
30 minutes to preach the gospel on local radio!

ANOTHER WONDERFUL ACE CONFERENCE!
22 CAMPAIGNS PLANNED!
At the end of September RTU Ministries again hosted the annual conference for ACE (Association of Campaign Evangelists), our seventh such
event. During three hectic days in Belfast’s Park Avenue Hotel we finalised
plans for some 22 gospel campaigns over the next eight months in a number of
needy countries in Africa and Asia. RTU will financially assist many of

We also welcomed many guests at the annual “RTU Friends & Partners
Evening” where we presented the latest news and reports from the target
mission fields and heard exciting reports from some of our conference
delegates, representing ten different nations of the world.
ARIL EDVARDSEN: 1938 – 2008.
 Richard Gunning and many of his colleagues were saddened to hear of the sudden death
of famous Norwegian evangelist Rev Aril Edvardsen on the 6th
September 2008, on his way home after a great mission trip to Zanzibar. Aril
founded the Bible School which Richard Gunning and Peter Karangu attended
1982–83 and was a very well known international evangelist and national
figure in Norway. Richard travelled many times with Aril and his wife Kari
on crusade trips in Russia and Africa. Richard attended his funeral in
Norway which was attended by over 2,000 people and broadcast live on
Norwegian television. We thank the Lord for Aril’s life and tremendous ministry and pray
for Kari and the family circle.

FOLLOW UP OPERATION
IN FULL SWING!
Jesus commanded us to
preach the gospel but he also commanded us to “make disciples of all
nations”.
In RTU Ministries we take
this instruction very seriously. RTU is now undertaking the financial
support of two native pastors in nearly every town where a campaign is held
by us or our associate evangelists. These dedicated pioneers follow up new
believers and also evangelise and plant churches in surrounding villages.
The work is overseen by our national director in each target nation, Each
man sends a monthly report which is then translated into English and
forwarded to us for distribution to the partner who is supporting that
particular pastor. Support levels range from £20 - £50 GBP per month
depending on the country.
The reports reaching our
office are most encouraging, people are being saved, baptized in water,
filled with the Holy Spirit and others healed as the native pastors go from
place to place. Over the years RTU Ministries has financially supported a
total of over 250 pioneer pastors in different countries, many are now self
supported thus allowing us to move the support to new areas.
MANY COME TO JESUS
IN RECENT CAMPAIGNS!
Many people have been
saved and healed in recent campaigns in both Africa and Asia. In a recent
campaign in a needy nation in Asia over 2,000 decisions were recorded for
Jesus, a man who was blind for many years could see again and a lady who was
deaf for many years testified that she could hear again after prayer in
Jesus’ name.
Another team travelled to
a needy nation in West Africa where most people are Muslims. There were many
healing testimonies and the country’s biggest TV station sent a camera crew
to film what was happening and to interview those who had been healed. The
lady reported herself asked for prayer after they had finished their
filming! Now many more great gospel campaigns are planned for the coming
months.
MANY BAPTISED IN
KENYA!
The RTU leaders in Kenya
have been visiting different areas of our work there and are very encouraged
to see how the Lord is working there.
In June native pastors
baptized many new believers from the famous Masai tribe in southern Kenya.
In August pastors will come together in central Kenya for the annual RTU
pastors’ conference. RTU is now erecting a new church building almost every
month in Kenya.

MANY COME TO
JESUS IN LATEST CRUSADES IN AFRICA AND ASIA!
The crusade season continues in full swing with
teams of ACE evangelists continuing to see a great harvest of souls in both
Africa and Asia.
BREAKTHROUGH IN
BURKINA!
Evangelist Harald led a team to Burkina Faso for
another wonderful crusade, the fourth there since December. This time the
target was a small town called Boromo. Pastor Samuel and his team again did
a great job and the team recorded over 1,500 decisions for Jesus over the
five nights. Two local pastors will now be supported full time by RTU
Ministries to lead the follow up operation and visit all these people,
together with other church pastors.
CRIPPLED LADY
WALKS!
There were many wonderful healing testimonies in
this Burkina Faso crusade, including a lady who came to the meetings on a
special hand operated bicycle often used by crippled people in Africa. As
Harald prayed for the sick on the first evening she rose up and walked and
all the people surged towards her and began clapping and cheering. This
miracle created a great breakthrough for the rest of the crusade and drew
many to the meetings.
THOUSANDS
ATTEND LATEST ASIA CRUSADE!
Evangelists Marcus and Christer led the latest
campaign in Asia. Thousands of people attended the meetings (see photo
below) and over 150 people testified publicly that Jesus had healed them.
Again RTU is undertaking the financial support of native pastors to lead the
follow up operation in this area. Next month Marcus will lead another team
to Asia for the latest in a whole series of crusades planned for this needy
region.

Also in March Richard Gunning was back in Denmark
as the main speaker at a wonderful missions conference organised by ACE
associate evangelist Per Hyldgaard. Delegates attended from both Denmark and
also Germany.

2007 – A YEAR OF EXPANSION !
2007 has been
another record year for RTU, God has greatly blessed us and enabled us to do
more in 2007 than in any previous year.
Many more pioneer native pastors are now being supported by RTU Ministries
in the vital follow up work and church planting, “bringing in the harvest”
after crusades. We currently support people in several different nations of
the world. The number of evangelists in ACE continues to grow steadily, year
by year and our September conference in Belfast saw a record number attend.
Nearly every month of the year ACE gospel campaigns are held in needy areas
of Africa and Asia, most are financially supported by RTU Ministries. Church
buildings are regularly constructed, bicycles given to pastors and thousands
of gospels and correspondence courses distributed in our target mission
fields.

ANOTHER GREAT ACE
CONFERENCE!
Record number attend, many
crusades planned for 2007 – 2008
Over the last weekend of
September we hosted our sixth ACE Conference in Belfast, a record number of
delegates came to Belfast and our annual “Friends & Partners Evening” also
saw our largest attendance to date. During the course of the conference
weekend time was spent planning, training, preparing and praying for the
many crusades now planned for the 2007 – 2008 crusade “season”. Our sincere
thanks to all who attended our partners evening, your presence was a great
encouragement to the delegates.
Already our team of
associate evangelists in ACE are on the move and teams have just completed
campaigns in Asia. Next month teams of evangelists will travel to Africa and
Asia for more crusades in unreached areas. RTU Ministries will be helping to
financially support all of these outreaches, thank you for your prayers and
financial support which help to make all of these things possible.
FOLLOW UP OPERATION
IN FULL SWING!
Follow up work is vital and Martin Goodchild recently travelled to West
Africa to help co ordinate follow up after recent crusades. Finances have
been sent to Asia for the printing of 20,000 copies of the New Life Bible
Correspondence Course. In addition RTU is constantly recruiting native
pastors in our target nations who follow up new believers and plant churches
after the gospel crusades. Once churches are well established and the native
pastors are self supported the finances are moved to help other pastors in
new pioneer areas.

KENYA: OVER 150 ATTEND A TREMEDOUS PASTORS CONFERENCE, 50 NEW BICYCLES PRESENTED AND NEW CHURCH BUILDINGS OPENED!
Richard has recently returned home to Belfast after another exciting trip to Kenya where we have been working since 1990. We had a wonderful pastors conference, 100 were invited but nearly 150 turned up, many of them paying their own expenses to get there! Together with Pastor Jonathan Payne and a team of young people from Northern Ireland we spent three full days training and inspiring these dedicated Kenyan men and women for pioneer evangelism and church planting. It was wonderful to hear exciting reports about how new villages are steadily being reached with the gospel and young men and women trained for the ministry.
Thanks to the generous support of friends and partners at home 50 new bicycles were presented to pastors, three new church buildings and two water bore holes were also dedicated. Thank you partners for your prayers and support which help to make all of these things possible!
Now we are very busy finalising plans for the latest ACE Conference 2007 here in Belfast, nearly 50 delegates from 12 different nations are expected this year. They look forward to meeting many of you at our “Friends & Partners Evening” on Friday 28th September at 7.30pm in Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast. If you have not attended in the past please don’t miss what is always a wonderfully inspiring, informative and well attended evening.

THOUSANDS COME TO JESUS IN LATEST
CRUSADES IN AFRICA AND ASIA.
Richard Gunning and his associates have been very
busy over the first few months of 2007 leading great gospel campaigns and
pastors conferences in Africa, Asia and Europe. More than 25,000 people have
come forward to receive Jesus Christ in to their hearts, many others have
been miraculously healed in the name of Jesus Christ after prayer. In each
place a follow up operation is in full swing to ensure that as many of these
new believers as possible are integrated into local churches, in some places
new churches have been planted. RTU Ministries is now supporting teams of
native pastors in several countries of the world who are busy in follow up
work and church planting after our gospel crusades.
Sometimes the evangelists experience strong
opposition from followers of other faiths but God has a special way of
helping us in these situations!
Evangelist Rickard tells us "A gang of 14 men came
to the last night of our crusade to cause trouble and violently break up the
meeting. They had a photographer with them who was going to take photographs
for a local paper to then show what bad people Christians are, but God had
another plan. As I gave the altar call and hundreds began to come forward
suddenly this gang of men saw a giant hand reaching out to them from the
platform, they then heard the audible voice of God saying " Come and give
your life to me!" Seven of the men ran from the ground in terror, three fell
to the ground and lay there for over twenty minutes and the remaining four
rushed to the platform to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. One man
came onto the platform with tears in his eyes and told the crowd " I came
here tonight to do evil but I have seen the hand of God and accepted Jesus
Christ as my Saviour!"
Now RTU and our associates are busy planning ahead
for more crusades and conferences in different parts of the world.

Richard Gunning and his associate evangelists in ACE
(Association of Crusade Evangelists) have been very busy in recent weeks,
travelling to many countries to preach the gospel and train believers.
In January Richard travelled to Burkina Faso in
West Africa with two associates where he led a great gospel crusade in a
small town called Diébougou.
Each evening large crowds gathered at the local
football ground to hear the gospel and many came forward to pray the prayer
of salvation at the close of each meeting. Many people also testified to
being healed in the name of Jesus Christ.
- A lady who had been crippled for ten years was
healed and could now walk normally.
- A lady who had been blind had her sight
restored.
- A young boy with a lame leg could now walk and
jump on the platform.
- Many others testified to being healed of a
wide variety of sicknesses and pains.
During the day time training seminars were held for
over 150 local pastors who were trained from 9am to 1pm each day in a
variety of practical subjects. Pastors from different denominations were in
attendance and this unity was wonderful to see.
During the month of February our associate
evangelists have also been extremely busy holding crusades in both Africa
and Asia. Thousands of people have come to Jesus Christ in these meetings
and many have been healed and testified publicly from the platform. Hundreds
of native pastors have been trained and inspired during our seminars for
native pastors.
Also in February Richard travelled to Norway where
he was a guest teacher at the "Troens Bevis" (Evidence of Faith) Bible
College in southern Norway.
This is the college Richard himself attended 1982
– 1983 and where he first met the
Kenyan church pastor Peter Karangu, now RTU’s director in Kenya.
Richard spent four full days teaching the students
about mission and pioneer evangelism.
In March and April more gospel crusades are
scheduled for both African and Asian countries. Please pray for these

MANY COME TO JESUS IN LATEST ACE CRUSADES
During the past few months associate evangelists have been holding a
number of wonderful crusades in both Africa and Asia.
Thousands of people have come forward to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and
Saviour and many have been healed as well.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Evangelist Marcus and his team held a great crusade in Asia,over
2,600 people came forward for salvation and over 100 people publicly
testified that the Lord had healed them in the meetings. The team also
visited one of the 252 churches planted after previous campaigns in this
area. Marcus tells us "The house church leader told us how he had been
saved in the campaign we held just over a year ago and how he now leads
the house church under the supervision of a local pastor. Many in the
meeting told us how they had been saved and were now continuing in
fellowship, prayers and Bible study. In our crusade the crowds grew
larger each evening and on the last night over 5,000 people came to hear
the gospel."
- Two other young evangelists, Johnny and Rune, held a campaign in
another town and 2,200 came to Jesus Christ, three of the meetings were
broadcast live by local television! On the final night there were so
many people packed in to the crusade ground that there was no space at
all to even move!
- In a third campaign, led by Jonas in the same region, the meetings
were also broadcast by local television and may people called our local
office the following day to testify. A young lady with a deformed back
due to polio was healed and came to the platform to testify publicly
what the Lord had done for her.
- In early October Richard Gunning hosted another great conference in
Belfast for his associates, attended by some forty delegates. Many
delegates expressed the view that this was the best such conference to
date. On Friday evening 6th October 2006 we hosted a "Friends & Partners
Evening" in a Belfast hotel, a chance for our partners to hear and meet
our international guests.
- In December 2006 Richard was back in Kenya, leading a great national
conference for pastors from all over that nation. People were trained
and inspired for three full days by Richard and his team. We also
visited a church we planted some years ago, the building was overflowing
and we are now planning an extension which will double it in size!
- Over the next few months Richard and his associates will be
preaching in many different countries, please pray for them - thank you!

MANY GREAT CRUSADES HELD IN RECENT
WEEKS!
RTU's associate evangelists have been very busy in
recent weeks preaching the gospel to unreached people in different parts of
Africa and Asia. In every place large crowds have come to hear the gospel
and many have been saved and healed in the meetings.
SOUTH EAST ASIA
Evangelist Mikael led a team to South East Asia
where thousands came to hear the gospel and receive prayer for healing.
Mikael was accompanied by two young trainee evangelists who were given
opportunities to preach in the meetings and God used them in a mighty way.
This was a great breakthrough for the gospel in a very needy area of the
world where there are few born again believers. The team experienced some
opposition in this area but the local authorities gave their permission for
the crusade to go ahead and God did great miracles each evening - the blind
saw and the lame walked! More crusades are now planned for this region in
the near future.
ASIA
In another Asian country three more young
evangelists led by Evangelist Marcus held another great campaign. Over 2,600
decisions were recorded for the Lord Jesus Christ by local co workers. There
were also over 100 healing testimonies recorded. RTU Ministries helped to
finance this campaign and we thank all our partners for their faithful

AFRICA
In southern Africa Evangelist Harald held a great
pioneer crusade amongst an unreached tribal group. This was also a great
breakthrough for the gospel with many coming to the Lord and many recorded
healings in the evening meetings. During the day time local pastors were
trained and inspired for follow up and evangelism. Next month Harald will
lead a great crusade in West Africa.
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
In early October Richard Gunning will welcome many
of his co workers from around the world to Belfast for a great conference.
They are all part of a network founded by Richard Gunning in 2002 which is
called ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists) This is an annual event
where we make plans, pray and train young evangelists. This year about 40
team members are expected representing nine different countries. After this
the delegates will go home to prepare for many upcoming crusades around the
world over the next six months led by Richard and his associates.

TRAINING BIBLE SCHOOL STUDENTS IN
NORWAY
Recent weeks have been a very busy time for Richard
Gunning and his associates. In April Richard and Agnes Gunning travelled to
Norway where Richard had been invited to spend a week as a guest teacher at
Evidence of Faith Bible and Missions Institute is the south of the country.
This is the school where Richard himself studied 1982 - 1983 and where he
first met Rev Peter Karangu, RTU's director in Kenya. Richard spent four
full days training the students in a variety of topics under the heading
"preparing for ministry and pioneer evangelism", his teaching was very
practical and well received by all the students. Richard also preached in
two local churches during the trip to Norway.
GREAT GOSPEL CRUSADES IN ASIA
In early May Richard was back in Asia leading a
great gospel campaign in a remote town, nearly 3,000 decisions were recorded
for the Lord Jesus Christ over the five evenings of the crusade. Many people
were also healed in the meetings and came to the platform to testify
publicly what the Lord had done for them.
- A man who was nearly blind could see clearly.
- A lady with severe back and hip problems could
walk and sit normally and without pain.
- A man with a painful lump on his foot
testified that it had disappeared and he could walk without pain.
- A lady with a deformed hand was healed and
could move all the fingers normally.
During the daytime training seminars were held for
local pastors, three sessions per day were led by Richard Gunning and his
associate evangelists. The local pastors were greatly inspired and
encouraged in their ministries and received fresh vision for evangelism, and
outreach work in their local areas.
A large team of evangelists are linked to RTU
Ministries under an umbrella organisation called ACE (Association of Crusade
Evangelists).
In recent weeks several other campaigns have been
held in different parts of Asia by these associates. In each place thousands
have been won to the Lord and many healed in the meetings.
FOLLOW UP!
After every campaign we also place great emphasis
on follow up work so that people can be integrated into local churches.
- Each person who comes forward fills in a
detailed decision card.
- Cards are distributed to trusted local pastors
who visit each person.
- Everyone receives a copy of the Gospel of John
in the local language.
- A free correspondence course is often sent to
those who completed a decision card.
- Follow up meetings are held with local pastors
to see what is happening on the ground.

BURKINA FASO..... a new door
opens....
A few weeks ago Richard Gunning led the first ever RTU and ACE team to
Burkina Faso, a landlocked West African country of some 12 million people.
Our crusade and pastors seminars were held in the small town of Dano where
there are very few Christian believers and only two small local churches.
Each evening people flocked to the local football ground to enjoy a time of
praise and worship followed by the preaching of the gospel and prayer for
the sick. Night after night many people came forward to receive Jesus as
Lord and Saviour, their names and addresses were carefully recorded by a
large team of volunteers for future follow up.
We then prayed for the sick and many came to the platform to testify what
the Lord had done for them. Perhaps the most dramatic case was a young four
year old boy who had been blind from birth according to his mother. People
clapped and cheered excitedly as the boy was able to reach out and touch the
point of my room key as I moved it around in front of him.
During the day time intensive seminars were held for one hundred local
pastors and church elders from the entire surrounding district, inspiring
them for outreach and follow up. Already we are receiving reports that many
have been added to local churches as a direct result of the crusade in Dano.
Together with our local contacts we are planning more outreaches for West
Africa.
ASIA
Two of our young associates recently held a tremendous campaign in an
unreached area of Asia. Over 3,500 decisions were recorded for Jesus Christ
in the course of five nights.
COMING UP....
In April Richard and Agnes Gunning will travel to Norway where Richard will
be teaching about mission in a Bible school and preaching in local churches.
In May Richard returns to Asia for another major gospel campaign in a needy
area.

The past two months have been a
very busy time for Richard Gunning and all the associate evangelists working
with him under the umbrella of ACE - Association of Crusade Evangelists.
Many crusades have been held by Richard and his team in both Asia and
Africa. Many thousands of people in remote towns and areas have heard the
gospel and hundreds have been healed in the name of Jesus Christ.
In October Richard Gunning
led a great crusade in a remote town in Asia together with two young
evangelists from Sweden. Up to 15,000 people were present in a single
service and more than 12,000 people came forward to receive the Lord as
Saviour. The area in which this crusade was held is very poor and
largely unreached with the gospel, we are planning many more crusades
for the region in 2006. Our strategy is to focus on a state or nation
and hold multiple crusades so that many people in different towns have a
chance to hear the good news and receive salvation and healing.
In November a number of
crusades were held by ACE evangelists in south Asia. Richard gunning led
one of these crusades, assisted by a young trainee evangelist from
Finland. Jesus commanded us to "make disciples" so we always bring young
trainees with us on crusade trips and teach them how to preach the
gospel in crusade meetings. These crusades in south Asia were also
greatly blessed by God and thousands responded to the altar calls for
both salvation and healing. In every town where we have held crusades a
thorough follow up operation is now in progress, literature is being
distributed and people are being invited to local churches. Another
successful ACE crusade was also held in west Africa in an area dominated
by witchcraft.
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2006
Plans are already in place
for many more crusades in both Africa and Asia in 2006. New areas are
opening to us as never before and we believe that 2006 will be a very
fruitful year for us all. We would like to thank all our friends and

LARGEST EVER ACE CONFERENCE IN BELFAST!
A couple
of weeks ago Richard Gunning and RTU Ministries hosted
the latest ACE Conference (Association of Crusade
Evangelists) in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The
conference was attended by a record number of 41
delegates from several different countries. ACE is a
network and fellowship of crusade evangelists from
many nations who co operate together to reach the
unreached in Africa and Asia by means of gospel
crusades and church planting in unreached areas of the
world. This year's conference was a great success and
many delegates attended for the first time. Three days
were spent in planning, discussion, prayer and
training to help equip the evangelists for the
ministry to which the Lord has called them. Many ACE
crusades will now be held in Africa and Asia over the
next few months, please pray for these outreaches to
the unreached and unsaved.
RTU
Ministries also hosted a special "Friends &
Partners Evening" in a Belfast hotel, giving our
mission partners a chance to meet the different
evangelists and to hear the latest reports from the
harvest fields. On the Sunday of the conference
weekend the evangelists preached in a number of
Northern Ireland churches and were a great blessing to
the local believers, inspiring many with a fresh
vision for mission and evangelism.
MANY
MORE CRUSADES COMING UP!
At the
latest ACE Conference plans were laid for many more
crusades and outreaches over the next six months. Part
of our strategy is to focus on a country or region and
hold many crusades in that region in a relatively
short period of time - this enables us to impact not
just one city but a whole state or nation with the
good news of Jesus Christ.

GREAT CONFERENCE IN KENYA
Richard Gunning
was recently in Kenya where he led the annual conference
for pastors working with RTU Ministries. Key delegates
attended from all over the country and were trained and
inspired for evangelism and church planting by Richard
Gunning as well as local RTU leaders. All the food,
travel and accommodation costs were covered by RTU
Ministries and we thank all our partners who gave so
generously to make this conference possible.
RTU has been working in Kenya since 1990 focusing all
our efforts on the many unreached tribes, most of whom
live in the north and east of the country. The Lord has
greatly blessed the work and around 300 churches have
now been planted in remote tribal areas. Thanks to
support from our partners we have also been able to
construct simple church buildings in many villages and
supply nearly 200 bicycles to native pioneer pastors
working in these arid regions of Kenya. A new Landover
was recently purchased for the work and a purpose built
mission head quarters constructed in Meru town in
central Kenya. RTU has also held ten great gospel
crusades in key towns where no such event had ever been
held before, thousands have come to the Lord in these
meetings and many have been healed. Under the leadership
of Rev Peter Karangu the work has continued to expand
and develop with many new villages being reached with
the gospel.
ACE CONFERENCE IN BELFAST
In 2002 Richard Gunning and RTU Ministries
launched ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists) an umbrella group
for young evangelists and their ministries. each year RTU hosts an
annual ACE conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland when all the
evangelists come together. This year we expect 46 delegates from
nine different countries to attend the conference, here plans will
be laid for future outreaches, new evangelists trained and
strategies put in place to reach the unreached in many countries.
Already plans are being finalised for more crusades and conferences
in different parts of Africa and Asia. Please pray for the upcoming

MANY ACE CRUSADES IN ASIA!
Over the
past four months young evangelists associated with RTU
through ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists) have
seen thousands come to the Lord in recent campaigns in
Asia. RTU is committed to training and sending
out many new evangelists to the unreached of the
world through ACE which was launched in 2002.
Here are
just a few highlights from some recent ACE crusades in
Asia.
-
Marcus
and Hanna Bloom held an historic crusade in a very remote
rural area and were pleasantly surprised when
thousands turned up to hear the gospel preached.
Some people walked for miles in order to attend the
meetings. There were also many wonderful healing
testimonies as the Lord confirmed the preaching of
His Word with "signs following".
-
Mikael
Boman recently led a campaign in a larger city,
thousands came to hear the gospel including the
local mayor. After prayer the mayor was healed from
severe headaches and was so pleased he ordered local
television to broadcast the final night meeting of
the campaign.
-
Richard
Gunning and Harald Mydland have just finished two
simultaneous crusades in two smaller towns. Again
thousands came to hear the gospel and there were
many wonderful healing testimonies, including a
little boy who had been deaf since birth. His father
came with him to the platform to tell the crowd how
his son could now hear and respond to sounds.

Dag
Heggset has just finished another very successful
campaign accompanied by Silje and Stian Bruaset,
many were saved and healed in their meetings and
thousands heard the gospel.
We are
convinced that our strategy of identifying, training
and sending out young crusade evangelists is bearing
great fruit for the gospel of Jesus Christ. By
training up new preachers we are able to reach more
people in more places than ever before. In each case a
comprehensive follow up operation is now in full swing
including visits from local pastors, literature and
correspondence courses and church planting where
necessary.

Richard
Gunning has just returned home after a successful trip to Norway.
Richard preached in two different churches in southern Norway and was
also a guest teacher at a Bible school - Troens Bevis (Evidence of Faith) Bible and Missions Institute in Kvinesdal. Richard spent three
days training students on the subject "preparing for ministry and
pioneer evangelism", his teaching was well received. This is the
same school where Richard studied 1982 - 1983 and where he first met
Peter Karangu, RTU's director in Kenya.

MISSION CONFERENCE IN NORWAY
In early January Richard Gunning travelled to the city of Trondheim in central Norway, accompanied by ACE associate evangelist Rickard Lundgren from Sweden. Richard and Rickard had been invited to lead a weekend missions conference in the local Bethel Pentecostal Church, led by Pastor Karl-Axel Mentzoni. The aim was to help inspire the church with a fresh vision for mission and evangelism at the start of the new year.
- Rickard Lundgren preached to many young people at a Saturday evening youth rally when many came forward to rededicate their lives to the Lord and His service
- Five people came to the Lord and others testified to healing after Richard preached at the Saturday evening evangelistic service.
- A seminar was also held for young evangelists interested in ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists).
- An international service was held on the Sunday afternoon for English speaking people living in Trondheim, some fourteen different nations were represented in this wonderful service.

RTU PASTORS HELP TSUNAMI VICTIMS
Like everyone else around the world we too have been shocked to see the devastation caused around the Indian Ocean by the recent Tsunami flood disaster. Native pastors connected to RTU and ACE have been doing all they can to help flood victims in their areas and RTU, along with many other charities, has provided financial assistance to our co workers on the ground. We ask our partners to pray for all the native pastors and church workers seeking to help the victims at this time of great need.

GREAT PASTORS CONFERENCE IN ASIA!
In early December 2004 Richard Gunning and associate evangelist Harald Mydland (Norway) were back in Asia leading a conference for over 250 native pastors, representing some 30 towns where RTU and ACE have held crusades in recent years. The conference had two main aims, firstly to train and inspire the pastors and secondly to hear of the impact of the crusades in the various cities. The conference was a great success and many of the pastors travelled great distances by bus and train in order to attend. Food, travel and accommodation expenses were all covered by our partners in UK and Norway and we thank you all for your support
79% SAY "CRUSADES MADE A GREAT IMPACT!"
Each delegate completed a detailed questionnaire form in order to help us get a clear picture of the long term results of the crusades in the various towns.
- 79% of the pastors reported that the crusade had made a "great impact" in their town!
- 81% reported that the "preaching was clearly understood by all the people."
- 71% of the pastors attended all of the day time seminars in their town during the crusade.
- 82% of the pastors indicated that they found the teaching "very helpful."
- 92% reported that they had received new members into their churches following the crusade.
- 37% reported that they had received over 50 new members after the crusade.
These exciting results have encouraged us to double our efforts in Asia and many more crusades are now being planned for different countries.

ACE CONFERENCE IN BELFAST
In the beginning of October Richard Gunning and RTU Ministries welcomed nearly 30 evangelists from seven different countries to Belfast for the annual ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists) Conference. ACE was established in 2002 by Richard Gunning and some of his associates as an umbrella group for young crusade evangelists. ACE provides training and crusade opportunities for young and upcomng evangelists, it is also a fellowship and network for those who have more experience or have already established their own ministry.
This years conference featured two days of training and discussion, church meetings in several Northern Ireland churches and a special "Friends & Partners Evening" for RTU's partners in Northern Ireland. A special guest at the conference this year was Rev Peter Karangu from RTU Kenya who founded RTU Ministries together with Richard and Agnes Gunning in January 1990. Peter's ministry was a great blessing to the delegates and also at the partners meeting. At the conference plans were laid for many upcoming crusades in Africa and Asia which will be led by ACE evangelists.

GREAT CRUSADE IN ASIA!
Richard Gunning and his team have just recently finished another great crusade in a remote town in Asia. Thousands of people attended the evening meetings and hundreds came forward at the close to give their lives to Jesus Christ and to receive prayer for healing. Richard Gunning was accompanied by two ACE associate evangelists on this trip. Up to 5000 people were present in a single meeting and the crusade was fully supported by all the local churches. Over the course of the five nights over 1100 decision cards were returned to us by spiritually hungry people from different backgrounds. These people will all be sent a free Bible correspondence course in their native language, local pastors will also visit them and invite them to church. Many people also came to the platform each evening to testify that Jesus had healed them during the special healing prayer for those who had come to the front.
During the day time training seminars were held for around 200 local pastors, church elders and women leaders. Three sessions were held each morning and then lunch was served. Many people were baptised in the Holy Spirit during the seminars and others healed whilst many dedicated themselves to "reaching the unreached" in their local area.

A GREAT TRIP TO KENYA!
Richard and Agnes Gunning and family have recently returned home to Belfast after a wonderful ten days in Kenya. On this occasion they were accompanied by a seven strong team from their home church in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Everyone had a tremendous time, for many it was their first trip to Africa, all agreed it was a life changing experience. The hectic programme included a three day conference for RTU pastors and church elders from all over Kenya, church meetings, an outreach trip to an unreached Samburu tribal village, a visit to an orphanage and local church meetings. The team were also able to donate 10 new bicycles for pastors, maize for hungry tribes people and buy a plot of land for a new church building in a remote area of western Kenya. Thank you partners for your prayers and support for this trip.
RTU first started working in Kenya in 1990, since that time nearly 200 native pastors have received support, enabling them to plant nearly 300 churches in remote areas of Kenya in previously unreached areas. RTU's Kenya head office is situated in the town of Meru and our national director is Rev Peter Karangu.

HARALD MYDLAND IN BENIN
Associate evangelist Harald Mydland will be in Benin in West Africa the last week of August, leading a pioneer gospel crusade in a remote town where no such outreach has ever been held before. Please pray that the Lord will bless and use Harald in a mighty way in this needy country. During Harald's last crusade in Benin hundreds came to the Lord and there were many great miracles of healing when Harald prayed for the sick in the name of Jesus. Two other associate evangelists will be heading for Asia at the end of August for another pioneer crusade in a needy city.

BELFAST CONFERENCE FOR ASSOCIATE EVANGELISTS
Over the first weekend of October Richard and Agnes Gunning will host an international conference in Belfast for young evangelists associated with us under the "umbrella" of ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists). The focus will be on training and making plans for future co-operation and outreaches to needy areas of the world. ACE was launched by Richard Gunning in 2002 in order to promote fellowship, training and co-operation between pioneer crusade evangelists. The number of evangelists involved in ACE continues to grow steadily.

HUNDREDS COME TO JESUS IN ASIA!
RTU's Richard Gunning returned home to Belfast a few weeks ago after leading another great gospel campaign in Asia. Thousands of people attended the open air evening meetings and hundreds came forward each night to receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. Richard was warmly welcomed to the platform at the first meeting by the local MP, deputy chief of police and local pastors from several small local churches. This campaign was the second in a series of campaigns in Asia planned by Richard and his associate evangelists in ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists). The names and addresses of all who came forward were carefully recorded by our team of dedicated local co workers. Each person will be sent a Bible Correspondence Course in the local language and will be visited by local pastors.

THE SICK ARE HEALED!
Following the prayer for salvation Richard prayed one healing prayer for the many sick people who were present each evening. Those who were sick laid hands upon themselves as a simple sign of faith and then Richard prayed one prayer for everyone from the platform. Those who had received a definite miracle in their bodies were then invited to come to the platform and give a testimony about what had happened to them. Each evening many people came forward to testify, after being checked by local pastors the most dramatic cases were allowed up onto the platform.
- An old lady who had been totally blind for some time had her sight restored and could stretch out her hand and touch Richard on the nose.
- A man who had been totally deaf in one ear was healed and could hear clearly with the ear that had been deaf.
- A man who had been demon possessed fell to the ground and later came forward to tell us that the Lord had delivered him as we prayed for healing and deliverance.

FIVE NEW HOUSE CHURCHES PLANTED IN FOLLOW UP OPERATION!
Our national director informs us that in recent weeks immediately following the campaign he and his team have already started five house churches to accommodate new believers who came to Jesus during the campaign. Many other new believers have also been added to existing local churches who were involved in the planning of the outreach. In RTU and ACE we firmly believe that gospel crusades alone are not enough, therefore a comprehensive follow up is always implemented by our local teams to ensure that as many people as possible are integrated into the local church.

Representatives of the some 250 churches planted in recent years by RTU Kenya will attend. Please pray for this conference which will be very important for the future evangelisation of remote and unreached areas of Kenya.

NATIVE PASTORS WITNESS MIRACLES OF SALVATION & HEALING!
Power of God in Kenya!
Over the past 15 years RTU Ministries has supported nearly 200 native pioneer pastors in Kenya, East Africa. These dedicated men have planted over 250 churches in remote areas amongst previously unreached tribes. Each month the men send a detailed report to our Kenya office which is translated into English and then sent to their supporter in Europe. Here are a few brief extracts from some of the latest reports.....
Pastor Paul writes from the Maasai region of southern Kenya.
Some time ago the Lord showed me in a vision that I should hold a meeting in a village which is famous for false prophets. Before the day of the meeting the Lord gave me good time to fast and pray and the Holy Spirit led me to break the powers of these false prophets. When the day came for the meeting we started well and the presence of the Lord was very powerful in the meeting.
As I had been travelling to the meeting I saw a very famous witch doctor, the most famous in the whole of that area, on his way to the meeting. When I saw that he was coming I began to pray to God that He may save the witch doctor. My supervisor, Pastor James, preached the gospel and then gave an altar call for people to come forward and accept Jesus as Saviour. At that moment the power of the Lord came upon the witch doctor in a mighty way and he started crying out to God to forgive him for all the things he had been doing. He came to the front where we prayed for him and he got saved. When his wife saw this she also gave her life to Christ.
People in that village praised the Lord for what He had done. The witch doctor has stood firm in his faith and today he is a church elder.

Six months ago one of our Sunday school teachers began to experience some stomach problems. We advised her to go and see a doctor and he said she had a growth on her stomach. She was given a date for an operation to remove the growth. One week before the planned date of the operation she came to church and told the congregation about her condition. I prayed for her as her pastor and she felt she was healed. I told her to go back to the hospital once again and let the doctor examine her to see if the growth had gone. The lady went back to the hospital and was examined, the doctor told her she was healed and the growth was no longer there. She came to the church the next day and testified to everyone that she was healed.

RICHARD GUNNING IN SCANDINAVIA
Last month RTU's founder, Richard Gunning, was in Sweden preaching in Katrineholm in central Sweden. Richard met with many of the associate evangelists who co operate with RTU under the umbrella of ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists). Richard also met with several young evangelists who were interested in ACE and in future co operation.
Next month Richard will travel to Norway where he will be teaching at the "Evidence of Faith Bible and Missionary Institute" where he himself studied 1982 - 1983 and where he met Rev Peter Karangu, now RTU's national coordinator in Kenya. Richard will also meet with Norwegian evangelists who are associated with us through ACE.

RTU's crusades are targeted on smaller unreached towns where such events have never before been held. FINLAND - INSPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR MISSION & EVANGELISM
In late November Richard Gunning travelled to Vasa, Finland where he was one of the main speakers at a key conference for youth pastors and leaders from many parts of the country. Richard spoke on "the ministry of the evangelist" and challenged the delegates to boldly step out in faith and see what the Lord would do. Many people were powerfully touched by the Holy Spirit at the close of the evening meeting when Richard prayed for the young people. This was Richard's second visit to Finland in the past twelve months and it is exciting to see how God is raising up many young people with a vision for mission and evangelism in the Scandinavian countries. Richard has also preached in both Norway and Sweden. The conference was organised by ACE associate evangelist Patrik Hellstrom.

ASIA - THOUSANDS COME TO CHRIST IN TWO CRUSADES
Richard Gunning recently led a team of ACE associate evangelists to Asia where two great December crusades were held in remote, rural towns where such events have never been held before. Each evening thousands of people came to hear the gospel under the warm evening sky and when the altar call for salvation was given up to 1000 people flocked forward each evening to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Over the course ofthe two crusades just over 8,000 decisdions were recorded for jesus Christ. Everyone who came forward was given a copy of John's Gospel in the local language and their name and address was carefully recorded for future follow up. Each person will also be sent a free Bible correspondence course which will help them understand more about the new life in Jesus Christ. Local pastors will also be actively involved in follow up work.

MANY HEALING TESTIMONIES
Each evening the sick were also prayed for at the close of the meeting. Once again we were privileged to see the Lord moving powerfully and touching many people. After carefully checking some of the most dramatic cases were allowed to come up onto the platform to publicly testify what Jesus had done for them:
- A girl of about 10 years of age told us that she had been partially deaf for years but suddenly the Lord had restored her hearing. She repeated simple words quietly spoken to her as her back was to the speaker. An old man who had been lame in one leg told us that his leg was healed and that he no longer needed his walking stick.
- A young man who had suffered from severe pain in his ribs for eleven years told us that all the pain had left him during the prayer for healing.

KENYA CONFERENCE
In late August Richard Gunning was in Kenya for the annual RTU Kenya Pastors Conference. Richard was accompanied by Martin and Susie Goodchild from England who helped with the daily teaching. Susie has worked with YWAM for many years and taught the men on the subject "How to study the Bible", this was very helpful and practical. The men travelled from all over Kenya to Meru for this annual event which is a great blessing to these dedicated men who are ministering in primitive and remote locations amongst previously unreached tribes. All the food, accommodation and travel expenses are paid for by RTU Ministries and we thank all our supporters who gave generously to support this vital event. Next year we are planning to invite a number of church elders to the conference so that they too can receive training and inspiration.
The work of RTU in Kenya is continuing to develop well and is moving towards a position of self support, enabling funds to be transferred over to other needy mission
fields. Peter Karangu and his leadership team are doing an excellent job in leading the work forward and encouraging the newly planted churches to reach out with the gospel to neighbouring unreached

ACE CONFERENCE
In early October RTU Ministries hosted the annual conference for ACE
(Association of Crusade Evangelists).
This umbrella group was launched by Richard Gunning in 2001 to help train, inspire and release young and upcoming evangelists into ministry as well as providing a network and support group for those with more
experience. A total of 28 people were gathered around the conference table in Belfast's Park Avenue Hotel for an intensive three day
conference.
On Friday evening 3rd October RTU hosted a special "Friends & Partners Evening", attended by many of our supporters. Many of the conference delegates took part and thanked all our partners for their prayers and support, a video was shown highlighting the work and expansion of ACE over the past twelve
months. On Sunday 5th October the delegates divided into teams and ministered in several local churches where they were a blessing and an inspiration to the
people. Next year we are planning another ACE conference, again for the first weekend of October 2004. |

Over the summer months RTU's native evangelists in different countries of the world have been busy preaching the gospel in remote and primitive regions. These dedicated men and women preach the gospel, plant new
churches, disciple new converts and raise up a local leadership in the areas to which they have been sent. RTU usually supports local native evangelists to conduct follow up work after our great open air gospel
crusades. We believe that proper and systematic follow up is essential after each crusade and much hard work is done by us and our contacts to ensure that this is done
well. Each native evangelist is supported by donors in the UK or Europe who receive a detailed monthly report from their evangelist. Support levels range from just £20 ($30) per
month, depending on the country chosen.

RTU has supported native evangelists in Kenya since 1990, over the years nearly 200 men have received financial support from
RTU. Over 250 churches have been planted in unreached areas with a total membership of over 12,000
people. In the early 1990's Richard Gunning and his team led ten great gospel crusades in unreached regions of Kenya. RTU has its own recently built head quarters in
Meru, Kenya where the work is led by Rev. Peter Karangu. In one recent month the RTU evangelists in Kenya led 410 souls to
Christ! Praise the Lord!

ETHIOPIA
In recent years RTU has also supported a team of native evangelists in Ethiopia. These dedicated men are ministering in remote areas where there are many unreached
people. New churches have been planted and many people won to Jesus
Christ. Recently 120 new converts were baptised in a local river. |

ASIA
RTU also supports teams of native evangelists in different Asian countries. These men are actively involved in follow up of new converts after RTU
crusades. In one nation our evangelists saw 415 people come to Christ in the month of June 2003. Many others were healed and baptised in the Holy Spirit.
BELFAST CONFERENCE
In early October RTU will be hosting a training conference for young evangelists from different
countries. This will be held in Belfast, Northern
Ireland. Our goal is to train and raise up a team of young evangelists from different countries who will go and lead great gospel crusades in unreached parts of the world.

RICHARD GUNNING IN NORWAY!
RTU's Richard Gunning was in Norway in late April where he was training students at the "Evidence of Faith Bible and Missions Institute" in Kvinesdal in southern
Norway. This is the school Richard himself attended 1982 - 1983, where he first met Peter Karangu (Kenya) and where the vision for reaching unreached people was
birthed. Richard taught on the subject "Preparation for Ministry and Pioneer Mission Work".
Whilst he was in Norway Richard also led a conference for young evangelists interested in getting involved in ACE
(Association of Crusade Evangelists) which was launched by RTU in October 2002 as an umbrella body for many young evangelists from different
countries. The conference was organized by Harald Mydland, one of our associate evangelists and one of the leaders of
ACE. The aim of ACE is to provide them with training, contacts and crusade possibilities as well as support and advice and encouragement in the
ministry. Already plans are being finalized for an ACE Training Conference to be held in Belfast in early
October.
FOLLOW UP IN ASIA!
From Asia our crusade director reports that thousands more copies of the New Life Bible Correspondence Course will be sent out soon to new believers who came to Christ during our recent gospel crusades
there. Already we are laying plans for more outreaches in Asia later this year. Please pray for all our co workers involved in follow up work at this time.
NEWS FROM KENYA!
Peter Karangu reports that heavy floods have caused serious damage to some of our new churches in remote areas, one church was completely washed away by the
floods. Despite such difficulties the work is continuing to grow and develop thanks to the hard work of our many native pioneer pastors. The annual RTU staff conference is being planned for August 2003. |

Great Crusades In Asia - Thousands Come To Christ And Many
Are Healed!
Richard Gunning and his team have recently returned home after
two wonderful open air crusades in remote regional towns in
Asia. Thousands of people came to the evening meetings, some
of which were broadcast on local television to the surrounding
area. Over 8,000 decisions were recorded for Christ over the
course of the two five night campaigns. Each person who came
forward was given a free copy of John's Gospel in the local
Language, they will also be sent a free Bible correspondence
course called "New Life" which clearly teaches the
basics of the Christian life. Local pastors will also visit
people and invite them to church.
Many Testify To Healing In
Jesus' Name!
One of the most notable features of the crusades was the large
number of people coming forward at the close of the meetings
to testify that they had been physically healed following
prayer in the name of Jesus. After careful checking by local
pastors the most dramatic cases are allowed onto the platform
to testify publicly what the Lord had done for them.
*A lady who had been deaf for
five years had her hearing fully restored. She was a member
of one of the local churches and her pastor came forward to
confirm that her story was true. People clapped and cheered
at this sign that the Lord was confirming the preaching of
his word.
*A man who had very poor eyesight
and was unable to read without strong glasses came to the
platform. He explained that he had broken his glasses a few
weeks earlier and could not afford a new pair. However after
prayer he could now see clearly - he demonstrated his healing
by reading excitedly from a small booklet which contained
small print.
*Many others were also healed
from lameness, partial paralysis, back pain and many other
ailments. To God be the glory! |

Baptised In Ethiopia
RTU currently supports 10 pioneer pastors in Ethiopia. Recently
our leader there was asked to baptise 120 new converts from
a largely unreached tribal group. RTU supports native pastors
in several different countries of the world who are winning
thousands to Christ each year. The support of friends and
partners helps to make all these things possible. For details

Two of our associate evangelists have just
recently returned from a crusade trip to Asia where they held
two major campaigns in two unreached rural towns. Thousands
of decisions were recorded for Christ in these meetings, each
crusade lasted five nights. The crusades were led by associate
evangelists Rickard Lundgren and Henrik Thornell from Sweden
and were organized under RTU's 'umbrella' ministry known as
ACE (Association of Crusade Evangelists). For more details

Large crowds attended the meetings in each
place to hear the good news of Jesus Christ being proclaimed
under an open sky. Each evening hundreds came forward to pray
the prayer of salvation in front of the platform. Their names
and addresses were carefully recorded by a large team of local
volunteers and each person was also given a free copy of John's
Gospel in the local language. Each person will also be sent
a copy of our Bible correspondence course 'New Life' which
we offer free of charge to who come to Christ in our
crusades.
Local pastors will also visit the people and invite them to
attend local participating churches.
Many people were also wonderfully healed when
the sick were prayed for in the name of Jesus. On the final
night in Rickard's crusade an entire family circle came forward
to testify how on various nights individuals in the family
had been saved, healed or delivered from addictions. "We
belong to Jesus now!" they boldly declared to the crowd
from the platform.
More Crusades in March and April
Richard Gunning and his associates are now
planning more crusades for Asia in the months of March and
April. Please do remember us in your prayers as we seek to
bring in thousands of souls for Christ in these needy places.
RTU Crusades are only held in towns where such outreaches
have never been held before and where there are very few Christians
- our goal as always is "reach the unreached".
The prayers and support of our friends and
partners help to make all of these things possible. Each crusade

Happy New Year Everyone
Plans for Asia
Following a brief Christmas break Richard Gunning and the
RTU team are now finalizing plans for five upcoming crusades
in Asia. RTU has seen thousands coming to the Lord in recent
years in different parts of Asia where most of the world's
unreached people groups are to be found and we plan to continue
to have this continent as one of our main target areas in
2003.
Please pray for our local crusade directors
as they finalize all the arrangements. Pray for Richard and
the other associate evangelists as they prepare to lead these
crusades in towns where such outreaches have never been held
before.
RTU targets smaller regional targets where
no western evangelist has ever previously held a campaign,
as Paul wrote in Romans 15:20 "my ambition is to preach
the gospel where Christ is not known." The coming crusades
are planned for February, March and April 2003 - each crusade
has a budget of around £6000 ($9000) - so the support
of friends is much appreciated. During the day time training
seminars are held for local pastors and also new converts
- a free lunch is provided for all those who attend by RTU
Ministries.
Plans are also being made for a number of
crusades in different parts of Africa - we will give you more
details later - "watch this space."

Nearly
8000 come to Christ in Asia Crusades!
Richard Gunning has just returned home from a great crusade
trip to Asia. Nearly 8000 people came forward to give their
lives to Jesus in two great open air crusades.These 5-day outreaches
were held in remote towns where most people had never heard
the gospel and where there are very few believers. Richard was
accompanied by three young associate evangelists from Scandinavia
who all did a tremendous job and are now well able to lead their
own crusades in future. (Please see separate article "A.C.E.
Launched" on this page for more details.)
Each person who came forward had their name
and address recorded for future follow up. They were given
a free copy of John's Gospel in the local language and will
also be sent a free Bible Correspondence Course called "
The New Life". Many people were also healed in the meetings
and came to the platform to testify publicly what Jesus had
done for them. More great crusades are now being planned for
Asia by Richard and his associates in January, February,
March,
and April 2003.
Thank you for your prayers and support for

Sweden
– Power To Salvation
In November Richard was one of the two main speakers at a
great conference in Nykoping entitled " Power to Salvation".
This event was hosted by our associate evangelist Rickard
Lundgren and his team from “Go Out Mission”. As
in Finland the aim was to train and mobilise young people
for world evangelism. Six of our young associate evangelists
were in the conference and we know the Lord is giving many
more a mission vision.
During the evening conference
meetings the Lord moved powerfully in both salvation and healing.
The day time seminars were more focused on training and inspiring
the young delegates for mission and evangelism. In Richard’s
final meeting on Sunday morning many young people came forward
to “sign up” for short term missions trips over
the next eight months. A similar event has already been scheduled
for next year with Richard again invited as one of the key
speakers. |

Finland
– Fire Falls
In mid-October Richard travelled to Helsinki, Finland to preach
at a great conference for young people from different parts
of Finland and Estonia. The conference was entitled “Reach
The Unreached – Action 2002”.
This was Richard’s first
ever trip to Finland and he was warmly received. Over 200
young people came forward in the first meeting to dedicate
themselves for world evangelism. Ten young people gave their
lives to Jesus in the Saturday night evangelistic meeting
and many others also testified to being healed.
Such conferences are a key element
in our new strategy of raising up a team of young evangelists
for world evangelism. We already have Patrik Hellström
from Finland involved as part of ACE and are convinced that
God is raising up many more young evangelists in Finland at

Belfast
– International Conference
In early October we hosted our first ever International Conference
in Belfast. Those invited were eight of our young associate
evangelists plus our national directors from Kenya, Asia,
Ethiopia and Nigeria. We spent two full days in conference
at the Park Avenue Hotel planning increased co-operation,
future crusade strategy, and the training and release into
ministry of upcoming young evangelists from different nations.
A.C.E. Launched!
During this conference we launched ACE (Association of Crusade
Evangelists). ACE is being started by RTU in obedience to
God as an umbrella association for different young evangelists
and their ministries. The main aims will be to provide them
with
- training, advice and support
from experienced evangelists
- opportunities to hold the first
crusades of their own
- strategic planning to help
them reach unreached peoples
- a network of contacts in unreached
areas
- partnership with other young
evangelists
In addition we shall co-operate
together to develop our multi-crusade strategy in unreached
areas and countries.
The development of ACE has been
warmly welcomed by all our associate evangelists and national
directors. Our vision is to have 100 evangelists associated
with ACE within the next few years. |

Friends
& Partners Night
On Friday evening 4th October we hosted a wonderful Friends
& Partners Night in the Park Avenue Hotel. This event
was attended by over 100 people and gave friends and supporters
the opportunity to meet all our international guests. Many
commented afterwards how blessed and encouraged they had been
by our visitors and by what they had seen and heard as Richard
outlined a brief overview of progress to date and future plans.
